Huawei Mate 40 series Kirin 9000 teaser leak

Recent reports suggest that Huawei is preparing to launch the Huawei Mate 40 series this month. Ahead of the launch, Huawei has released a teaser of the processor that will power this upcoming flagship.

On the occasion of the mid-autumn festival, Huawei’s Kirin sent its wishes to the customers through a promo poster, which shows the evolution in the flagship Kirin chipsets.

The poster also includes Kirin 950, Kirin 960, Kirin 970, Kirin 980, and Kirin 990 5G. On the top, the company has another Kirin processor that starts with number “9” and likely to be the upcoming Kirin 9000 5G chipset.

Previously CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu said that the Kirin 9000 will be the most powerful Kirin chipset ever, featuring new 5G technologies, AI processing, powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and GPU performances.

Last year’s Kirin 990 built with 7nm+ EUV technology and the world’s first chipset to feature 5G modem embedded right on SoC. Kirin 990 comes with the support of NSA/SA dual-mode 5G connectivity and its NPU provides improved AI performance.

Kirin 9000 will be featured on Huawei Mate 40 series and a report reveals that the global launch of the phone lineup will happen on October 22. More information about this phone series linked down below.
