Honor Play 9A receiving August 2020 security updates

Honor Play 9A is an upgraded model of Honor 9A, which was launched last year in March. The Honor Play 9A was also launched last year in April. Most of the features are the same on both devices and differ on the user interface. Honor Play 9A runs on Magic UI 3.1 and Honor 9A runs on Magic UI 3.0.

Now, both the device getting August security updates with Magic UI 3.1.

  • Sometimes update size may vary.
  • Maintain enough storage and battery.
  • If possible, connect to Wifi.


Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings in your device.
  2. Click on system & updates.
  3. Click on software update.
  4. Check for update
  5. Click on the download button.
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  8. Reboot the device.

Through Support app:

  1. Open Support app in your device.
  2. If not installed, download it from play store.
  3.  Open service tab.
  4. Tap on update.
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button.
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen.
  9. Reboot the device.
