January 2022 security update is installs to the Huawei P40 Lite (EMUI 10.1)

Huawei is sending the January 2022 software update for Huawei P40 Lite running on EMUI 10.1. This update increases the security patch level of the P40 Lite smartphone and protects the device against threats.

As reported by Huaweiailesi, Huawei P40 Lite January 2022 update landed on the ground with EMUI version 10.1.0.399 (C432E1R2P1). To upgrade over the latest EMUI version, the P40 Lite users need to download and install the update package size of 262MB.

However, this update is rolling out gradually and will soon cover all Huawei P40 Lite devices available in the market. On the other hand, Huawei P40 Lite is eligible to receive the next major update – EMUI 12 that will provide a brand new user experience similar to HarmonyOS.

To be mentioned, this big size EMUI update package only includes the security improvements and doesn’t have any changes made to the system. Also, it may be the last EMUI 10.1 software version before the stable EMUI 12 rollout.

EMUI 12 for Huawei P40 Lite:

Huawei P40 Lite is currently under EMUI 12 beta testing program and registered users have already grabbed the first beta software. Meanwhile, the corresponding Huawei P40 Lite users have to wait until the stable EMUI 12 rollout to enjoy the latest features.

New Changelog:

  • Security: Installs the January 2022 EMUI security update that fixes 4 critical, 12 high, and 47 medium levels of CVEs for better system security.

    How to update:

To update, Huawei P40 Lite users need to open the settings on their respective devices, then tap on software & updates and click software updates. Wait for seconds, while the phone is connecting to the server and checking for updates.

Once the update appears on your device, hit the download and install button and wait for the completion of the update process. Before upgrading, make sure that your phone will be charged at least 30% and also maintain enough storage.
