Tecno Camon 17 launched Google Android 12 Beta

Google officially released the long-awaited first beta version of Android 12 at Google I/O 2021 on Tuesday, and lucky Pixel owners can already personally try out all the latest features introduced in the latest software. Soon after the release of Android 12 Beta 1, we saw many OEMs making announcements to release similar betas for their flagship stores.

From OnePlus and OPPO to Xiaomi and ZTE, almost every major Android OEM has joined the Beta party. Now, the little-known smartphone brand Tecno has knocked on the door to join this elite alliance. The company just released Android 12 Beta 1 for its Camon 17, a cheap smartphone powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

First of all, Tecno is one of the lesser-known Chinese smartphone brands, mainly focusing on selling affordable smartphones in developing and emerging countries (including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, etc.).

Although it may sound ridiculous that an OEM like Tecno releases Android Beta for its cheap smartphones, this is not the first time the company has achieved this feat. Last year, Tecno has released Android 11 Beta 1 for its cheap smartphone Pouvoir 4, making it the first smartphone to use MediaTek SoC.

If you own this phone, you can immediately use the most advanced version of Android. If you want to try it, you can download the Andriod 12 Beta 1 zip corresponding to your model from the link below.

When installing, you need to use the firmware package tool, which uses the low-level download mode of the MediaTek chipset. If you want to go back to Android 11, you need to refresh the rollback package in the same way.

As you know, this version is only for developers and advanced users, and it is great to see the latest Android Beta as a cheap phone.
