Despite the fact that the Starlink service (accessible via satellite) deployed through SpaceX is still only operating in a few countries/regions, the demand for it is still great. Currently, more than 500,000 people are waiting in line for this service.
“To date, more than 500,000 people have subscribed or ordered Starlink,” said Siva Bharadwaj of SpaceX, a space operations engineer, during the last Starlink satellite launch. The CEO of SraceH Elon Musk has already commented on these words.
He said that “maybe” 500,000 people are connected to Starlink, but the provision of the Internet to a large number of users in urban areas complicates matters. SpaceX has put 1,505 satellites into orbit, and last week the company obtained permission from U.S. regulators to launch 1,309 more.
Considering that SpaceX put 60 satellites into orbit in a rocket launch, it can be considered that all equipment allowed by the regulatory agency will enter space within a year. The subscription fee for using the Starlink service is US$100 per month, and the cost of a set of equipment is US$400.
