Huawei Mate Xs getting January 2021 security update

Back in September 2020, Huawei started EMUI 11 beta testing for Mate Xs devices. Following the latest OS evaluation procedure, the company launched the first and second beta versions and stable EMUI 11 locally and globally.

The stable EMUI 11 brings new features to beta testers and users on EMUI 10.1. It provides a new artistic always bright display, improved multi-window multi-tasking, super notepad, subtle AI, smoother animation, and more.

Now, Huawei’s folding smartphone Mate Xs has begun to receive new software updates. This update mainly installs the security patch released in January 2021, which fixes different levels of exploits and problems and can enhance system security.

On the other hand, Huawei will release the new smartphone Huawei Mate X2 in the foldable phone series on February 22, 2021. The upcoming product lineup includes inward folding, 8.01-inch primary foldable screen, and a 6.45-inch secondary screen.

The leak indicates that the phone can be expanded to 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2mm size, Kirin 9000 processor, Bluetooth 5.1, 50MP main camera, 16MP selfie camera, 4400mAh battery, etc.

How to update:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
