Honor 20 and V20 will be updated in January 2021, still waiting for the launch of Magic UI 4.0

In addition to EMUI 11, Honor has also registered qualified devices for the Magic UI 4 beta program. As of now, the company has installed the latest Magic UI version for its flagship series (including Honor 30, V30, 20, V20 series and Magic 2 in China).

Moving on, Honor then expanded the influence of the Magic UI 4 beta program in the global market. The world’s first devices include Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20. However, the test is still in progress, and the company will soon launch a stable version of Magic UI 4 globally.

Earlier, it was reported that users of Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20 beta testers and Magic UI 3.1 will receive a stable Magic UI 4 via OTA in the first quarter of 2021.

At the same time, Honor has started to send new security updates for Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20 smartphones. This update mainly installs the security patch released in January 2021, which improves system security and enhances overall device performance.

Currently, this update is available to Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20 users in India. The company will soon expand this latest security patch to more regions.

  • Honor 20, 20 Pro and V20 users use Magic UI 3.1 version, the update size is 133MB.

Update log:

  • Security: Integrate the Android security patch released in January 2021 to improve system security.
  • In January 2021, security patch details: Security patches were installed for vulnerabilities and problems of different levels in Huawei mobile phones, including 4 critical levels, 1 medium level and 25 advanced CVEs.

How to update:

  • To download this update manually, go to Settings, System and Updates, then open Software Update, and select Check for updates from here. If an update is available, it will pop up on your phone and display the “download and install” option. Press option and start downloading.
  • Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the support app. To do this, open the “Support” app, go to the “Services” tab on the bottom bar, click Update, then select “Check for updates”, then download and install.


  • This update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  • The update will not delete any data.
